She hated her parents sometimes, well her dad all the time and her mom half the time. Why kind of man hits women anyway? And what kind of woman just lets it happen? She promised herself to never become them, to never let a man walk all over her. Today she had a call from her mother sobbing to her on the phone about it being the last time, about her finally leaving the man, 'right' she thought, 'much like the last time was the last time...'
She was in a right mess about it too she wanted an escape to get out of her life, so she went online to find someone to talk her out of insanity. Luckily she found it in someone called James who also went to Bullworth. Call her crazy but she agreed to meet with him for some Star Wars marathon. She loved that kind of stuff.
The movies started at nine that gave her a good two hours to get ready. Not that she needed it, she wasn't you're average high maintenance types, all she needed was to change out of her pajama bottoms and into jeans, her black t shirt would suffice. So she decided to take the time to do some homework.
The time came to meet Sir Jamie as she decided to call him, she found her old chauffeur's hat and poster board, she scribbled 'Sir Jamie' on it and headed out.
Skyview Movieplex wasn't as full as it usually was maybe because there was nothing good out except a Starwars movie marathon... She went to the ticket place put on her hat and held the sign up as if she was picking up someone famous from an airport. Sure she got a lot of stares, but who cared?

What the hell are you thinking? He wondered to himself as he signed offline and twirled around in his desk chair. He had talked to a lot of people on the internet before, but Jim had always made fun of the kind who actually met total strangers. Now he was about to do the exact same thing. And he had no idea what to expect. Hell, he’d been the one to initiate all of that anyway, hadn’t he? It was ridiculous. He was ridiculous. What the hell are you thinking?
Jim was still trying to convincing himself it was a good idea as he stood and looked around his dorm room for something to wear that didn’t seem like he was a total dork. Of course, if there was any doubt of that he had just asked a girl from the internet out for a Star Wars movie marathon. Fuck, you are so stupid, he thought as he kicked at his laundry pile looking for something decent. He decided on jeans and a hoodie – it was sort of his bread and butter when it came to clothes. This one was plan black with the word ‘meh’ emblazoned in white across the front. His jeans were simple, cargo style. He didn’t understand the guys who wore the jeans that were tight… But that was all for another time. There was irony here that he couldn’t see.
With nothing better to do at home, Jim left for the theater about an hour early, taking the time to swing by the convenience store and snag a couple bags of decently priced candy. He slid them into the lower pockets of his pants, the ones near the knees where he wouldn’t forget about them and sit on them or something. That would be impressive, he noted getting back into his car and heading for the theater. He was still quite early as he headed for the doors, but at the corner was a girl in a black hat holding a sign that could only be meant for him. ‘Sir Jamie’ was spelled out in big, blocky letters and her eyes were definitely searching for him.
A snotty, college aged couple bumped past him and remarked something cruel about the sign. If he had been doubting this meeting before, he certainly wasn’t now. Instead of turning him against the idea, Jim stepped forward quickly and grinned. “Ah, Lady Katie, I presume,” he dipped his head low in a rather rigid bow, feeling at ease with this girl already. Nothing too scary about her yet from what he could see… And what he could see didn’t look so bad either. ....................................................................................................... hey, it's...Jim just kickin' in in my...too lazy to make the photo, but the descrip. is there inspired by..."In Pieces" - Linkin Park counting...444 words other info/notes...All right, let's do this.

Kate was beginning to worry she'd been stood up and was looking like an idiot for nothing, when Jamie came up to her. She smiled as he bowed and decided to curtsy. She couldn't help but laugh at her ridiculousness but she was bored. "Told you you'd know who I was" she grinned. She hadn't seen the original star wars trilogy only the prequels and was excited to see them.
She was glad she'd decided to quit being a shut-in and go out and have some fun. She couldn't spend her whole life worried about her mom Everyone had damage, some worse than others. . She wondered what Jame's parents were like for a moment, what was his damage.
"So, shall we?" she asked. She was kind of bummed they'd be watching a movie though and not talking, he seemed so interesting online, but then again if it was true what he said, about being more interesting online then this was a good thing.
She turned to the ticket place and took out her cash to pay for the tickets, she would've paid for the both of them but guys were weird about that.

“No kidding,” he answered as she asserted he would identify her. There was no missing this girl. It sounded childish, but her features were just cute. There was something charming about the slightly off-center nature of her big, brown eyes. It reminded him of an old friend, Al, who had insisted that brown eyes weren’t worth the time; but in the face of Katie, Jim had to disagree. There was something comforting about her eyes… Like chocolate chip cookies or something stupid like that. He shuddered to think what she would say if she could hear this juvenile train of thought.
Jim followed her lead as she took to the ticket counter. There was a moment of hesitation as he watched her pay for her own ticket. Was it a date? Should he have paid? As far as he knew they were just hanging out at the movies… Right? In any case, they moved through the ticket line quickly. He looked over his little slip of paper indicating which theater and smiled. “I’m glad the Star Wars thing wasn’t a deal breaker, I’d be truly hurt if it was.”

She smiled as they walked to the theater. "Deal braker? It was the deal maker I love Star wars" She said enthusiastically. As they entered the theater she looked around scouting for good seats. Chris and her usually sat front row center, sure it hurt their necks but you got to see all the action u close. But she wasn't with Chris now was she? She was with another guy, 'is this a date?' suddenly came flying into her mind. The thought was abandoned almost as quickly as she thought it up, she Katie Morgan simply did not date.
She'd never had a boyfriend, hell she'd never had an actual kiss. You know a hot and heavy steamy make out kind of kiss? Well she never had one and she wasn't planning on one until she met the right kind of guy.
"Where you wanna sit?" She asked him snapping out of her thoughts. She then realized they hadn't bought anything to munch on, and this would be a long night, "damn, forgot the snackage..." she mused to herself aloud.

“I actually had something else in mind,” he piped up as she turned toward a row. Not wanting to attract too much attention, he placed his hand on the small of her back and pushed her toward the front of the theater. There were a lot of people gathered – girls and guys some in full costume from the films they were about to see. It was easy to sort of glide in and out of people and he pushed her forward carefully. “Just trust me,” he said, as they continued weaving. He was sure she would be concerned as they turned toward the exit door. Carefully, he peeled back the curtain and stepped inside.
“C’mon,” his voice called out to her from the darkness. They were on the other side of the screen. There wasn’t a whole lot of room – a good ten feet at most all along the length of the screen. “This is where the good seats are… You have your choice.” He took a seat in the center. “And as for snacks,” he stuffed his hand in his pocket and pulled out a giant bag of M&M’s. “Candy coated chocolate; genius!” ....................................................................................................... hey, it's...Jim just kickin' in in my...Sometime tonight I'll make a pic... inspired by..."This Moment" - Disturbed counting...194 words other info/notes...M&M's = Awesome in a bag

Kate wondered where James was taking her as they bypassed strangers in costume and regular clothes, she then realized she had never taken off the hat and felt kind of dorky in it so she took it off and smoothed her hair down. "Just trust me " he then said, "Call me crazy but I do.." she sort of mumbled as he ushered her behind the giant curtain screen the movie was projected on.
She was impressed. She'd never even thought of going behind the curtain, hell she didn't even know there was a curtain screen until she was about ten. She always thought it was a giant tv, call her naive. "Bravo Sir Jamie these are wicked seats" she nodded in approval.
She walked over to him and sat next to him her eyes widened when he revealed his giant bag of m&ms "you are officially my hero" she said and bowed her head to him. She took the bag, opened it and dug into it pulling out a handful. She looked at each carefully though the dim lighting wasn't helping her... "Here" she gave him all the yellows she had gotten.

Jim smiled as he took a place next to him. He was thrilled that she too was evidently a fan of the multi-colored chocolate candies; all but yellow it seemed. Not yet having gotten a handful of his own, he looked over the small pile of yellow she’d handed him. “All right, I’ve got to know what’s wrong with yellow?” He rolled the candies over in his hand, inspecting them carefully. Teasingly he picked them up one by one and looked them over as if there would be some sort of obvious reason that the yellows were so unloved by his new acquaintance.
“If you tell me what’s wrong with yellow, I’ll tell you what’s wrong with brown,” he bargained, taking his own handful and removing the browns, offering them to her simply. This wasn’t as hard as he’d thought it would be.

Kate just smiled as her was most obviously making fun of her, inspecting the yellow m&ms to see what was wrong with them. She shook her head "nothing's wrong with them, I just don't eat them" she said simply. "I don't eat artificial yellow" she shrugged. "Now, what's wrong with the brown ones?" she asked genuinely interested to see what he would come up with.
She always got the third degree about her non yellow eating habits. That's what it had become really, a habit, she hadn't eaten yellow since kindergarten. She also didn't eat meat or any animal byproduct, but that was for a completely different reason. She was a vegan because she couldn't bare to think of some poor animal dying just for her to eat. She wasn't wild about animals, but she figured she didn't want to be a part to their extinction.
"Do you think there'll be previews?" she then asked out of the blue. She'd never been to a movie marathon and didn't know if they still gave previews, she loved the previews, sometimes better then the movie its self, though she was sure that wouldn't be the case this time. "They're my favorite part" she explained.

He nodded as she made it clear what exactly was wrong with yellow. When he got home tonight, he would get on Google and Wikipedia and any other ridiculous site to figure out what exactly ‘artificial yellow’ was all about. Jim would plow through the first twenty links that Google gave him before deciding that it was probably just a weird Katie thing. Weird wasn’t bad however; and certainly where ever there was weird, there was plenty of good company. He munched a few of the M&M’s in his hand – mostly yellows – before answering about the brown ones. “Browns are double chocolate… Don’t want to make myself sick,” he noted. His mother had tried to convince him of this at the age of six. He had always given her his brown M&M’s as a result… He thought for a minute about sending her a bag of just browns later this week.
“Actually, it’s funny you should ask,” he noted as the house lights went down and a cacophony of cheers and other unintelligible, but distinctly human sounds came from the other side of the screen. “They’re going to show the previews from the original releases.” He explained, laying back on the ground. With the screen so close, it was like having the movie play in the sky above them. “Ah,” he winced as the beginning titles began to roll. “And, of course – everything’s flipped. Other than that, best seats in the house.” ....................................................................................................... hey, it's...Jim just kickin' in in my...Sometime tonight I'll make a pic... inspired by...Ah, sweet silence. counting...242 words other info/notes...-steals your whole 'not posting speaking parts in color' thing-

Katie nodded as he explained what was wrong with brown, it made perfect sense. She then began to pick out the browns too, "What should I do with them?" she wondered out loud and decided to just put them back in the bag and then shake it a bit to mix them all back up again.
When the all the lights turned off and the previews started she was excited, almost like a little kid she jumped a little in her seat as the loud surround sound jolted her. She looked to Jamie and saw that he was laying down, would it be too weird if they were both laying down? She decided not to risk it and stay sitting up. She nodded as he explained about the previews "coolness" she said whispering as an old movie preview came to life before them.
She didn't care much that she couldn't read the words on the screen, these were in fact that best seats. She'd have to do this again sometime, maybe even with him.

“There’s another reason these seats are ideal,” he noted, not looking away from the screen. Even back in the day the previews went on forever. He waited a minute before filling in the obvious place where he’d drawn a blank. “We can talk and not get popcorn thrown at us.” Finally, it seemed like the actual movie was about to begin. The sound back behind the screen was a bit muffled, but it was all right. These were movies he’d seen a million and a half times; forwards and backwards and with all kinds of soundtracks looping over them. They were sort of a guilty pleasure; or they had been in Seattle where he was expected to have a bit more of a ‘cool guy’ façade.
“So when you’re not chauffeuring for total strangers from the internet at the local movie theater, what do you do, Lady Kate?” He reached for the M&M’s, taking another handful and eating them two or three at a time. The glow of the screen was a nice sort of distraction, but he glance at her as he waited for a response.

"Very true, but talk in the good scenes and you'll get M&Ms thrown at you" she said jokingly. She realized she wasn't even looking at the screen but at him. She snapped out of her stare though and back at the screen though the current scene made no sense to her as she wasn't paying attention. He then asked her what she did, on her off days just as the actual movie was about to begin.
She threw an M&M into the air and tilted her head back catching the green little bugger. She smiled. "Mostly," she began, "I hang out with my homie Chris." she laughed at her own use of the word homie, it took restraint for her not to pop out with homieizzle, Chris and her talked in izzle sometimes when they were bored. "Or on my own.. I read a lot... and oh I like taking pictures... kind of a hobby of mine." She felt like a dweeb telling him her hobbies, but he asked.
"How about you? What do you do Sir Jamie?"

Jim sat up as she explained what would result from his conversation during the more important parts of the movie. He raise his arm slightly, as if blocking on-coming M&M’s. He was sure to try to carry on a conversation with someone at the wrong moment; it was his nature. He would just have to be prepared. Evidently she was a good aim; he watched enviously as she tossed one of the green candies into the air and caught it in her mouth. He smiled at the use of the word ‘homie’. It was more friendly than the ‘bros’ he had just come from… Not literally obviously; but the Seattle Bros.
He couldn’t help but wonder about this ‘Chris.’ Katie had mentioned him in an almost dismissive manner; as if to indicate that this friend was indeed just a friend. Jim wondered why it mattered to him whether or not one of Katie’s friends was actually a friend or something more. He pushed the thought to the back of his mind and prepared to answer her question. Orange red light shone down on them from the screen; the sandy terrain of Tatooine was splayed across the screen.
“Mostly mess around on the computer,” he offered. “If I’m not on the internet, it’s because I’ve got the damn thing open, messing with this or that; adding a new part, taking out an old one.” He spoke very lovingly of his computer. It was his pride and joy. “And watching movies… Kind of a movie junkie. And video games… What can I say, I’m a guy? I think the last time I read it was mandatory for class.”

She listened intently to James as he spoke, not caring much of the goings on in the movie"Boys will be boys" she grinned, she then noticed that she'd been smiling and laughing an awful lot, she hoped he didn't think her a tart because she couldn't wipe her goofy smile off, but what could she do? She was a happy person - for the most part.
She had to say she was impressed yet again at his knowledge of the computer. "All I can do on a computer is open up AIM and chat rooms" she said "Oh and Word, but that's not too impressive" she said. "And as for the inside, I've never even seen it ... " she added.
About the movies part she was sure he had her beat there too, she wasn't a big movie buff though she preferred them to television. She did watch a lot of movies but never the classics that everyone seemed to love she watched what she thought was interesting and what she thought she could sit through. "Movies are cool" was all she said on the matter.
As for the video games, "I love to shoot people.." she said, then added in case he thought she meant in real life, "in games, and drive like a maniac." She loved anything she could use to escape life and her home situation. As a child she learned a lot of ways to distract herself and pull herself into an alternate reality, and books were her main getaway, though she knew many were not fans, she certainly was.
