Sydney turned off her laptop, and got up off her bed. She had agreed to be Bryson down at Slice's in a bit. She was actually pretty excited to meet him. He seemed really nice, and she always was up for making new friends. Glancing around her dorm room she realized what a mess it actually was. She really needed to clean up sometime. It was getting pretty cold outside so Sydney figured it would be best to wear something relatively warm. She found a pair of dark jeans and pulled them on, before a white t shirt and a dark green zip up hoodie.
Grabbing her wallet, she shoved some money in her pocket before walking out the door. The air outside was cool and refreshing. It was getting dark, and she could see the moon hanging above her head. Everything seemed so much more peaceful at night. Soon enough she found herself looking into the practically empty pizza place that was popular for many of her fellow students at Bullworth.
Walking in, it seemed like Bryson had yet to arrive, considering the only other people around were in pairs or groups. Sydney escorted herself to an empty table that was set in the centerish of the room. She figured it would be polite to wait for Bryson to come before she ordered anything. She did not want to make a bad first impression.
The atmosphere of the room was generally light and happy. She actually felt a little awkward sitting there waiting for him all by herself. Maybe this was a bad idea, she thought to herself. She generally was not really good at meeting new people, but they seemed to connect at least a little in their online conversation. Hopefully the rest of this night would not be a complete disaster.

Bryson shut the door behind him, feeling a rush of chilly air slither down his spine. "Brr, maybe I should get a jacket... " he whispered to himself. The decision was made, so he ran back to his room and grabbed his red and black striped jacket with only the thought of keeping him warm and his arms covered fully. He didn't really care if it matched his pink "Steve Vai" shirt or not. He hurried back outside and embraced the cold air. His footsteps became more quicker as he walked down the vacant street that led to Slice's. His eyes couldn't help but dart back and forth in slight discomfort, since he was walking around outside. Plus, it was dark so that didn't help much either. This wasn't like Bryson though. He didn't like to go outdoors much, but he really needed a friend. Being alone was something Bryson did NOT like at all. As he grew nearer to the shop, he suddenly realized how quick things were going. I just met her online in the student chat room and now I'm asking her to meet me? She probably thinks of me as a little pushy perv or something, he thought to himself. He hoped that she wasn't alarmed in anyway or bothered none the less. He reached the front of the shop, noticing that there was only a few people at usual hot-spot. As he walked inside, he noticed a blonde girl sitting in the middle of the shop alone. He had to admit that she was a pretty girl and that made him even more nervous. Holding his breath and gripping the bottom of his sleeves, he took painful steps towards Sydney.[/blockquote]

As Sydney sat in her chair she tried to look comfortable as possible, if that was even possible. She felt like a complete dork sitting there by herself. The only thing running through her mind was why she agreed to meet a random person, but it couldn't hurt, or at least she didn't think so.
After the final thought crossed her mind,. she heard the familiar sound of the bell ring as the door opened. Standing in the door was a guy who seemed to look around her age. Sydney had no idea whether or not this was Bryson. She honestly had no idea what he looked like. He seemed to be looking at her though, she figured it couldn't hurt to see if it was him.
Smiling she waved to the guy standing in the doorway. It wasn't like anyone could say anything to her if she was wrong. "Bryson?" she said with a questionable look on her face. It just so happened that she found it possible to say it just loud enough for herself and that mysterious guy in the door to hear, even if the other people were listening which she doubted they were. She was somewhat surprised by how the guy looked. He was pretty much what she had pictured in her mind. He was actually kinda cute, not that she had not expected that, all the guys at Bullworth were cute. It must be in the water or something.

"Bryson?" The blonde girl called to him as he walked inside. He smiled at the girl nervously while waving his right hand. He took careful steps towards the table where the girl was sitting, then sat down.
Bryson could see from the corner of his eye that the few people in the shop were eyeing them both. Their stare made him feel a little uncomfortable, making him clutch onto the end of his sleeves even more. He could tell that the girl was a little nervous too, so he wasn't alone.
"Hey ah...Sydney. It's nice to meet you in person..um. Sorry about being a little hasty in meeting you in so little time. I have a problem on "acting on impulses" my doct- friends tell me." Bryson said with a red face.
Smooth, Bryson. Smoooth.... [/blockquote]

Sydney took a deep breath as she noticed the dark haired boy walking towards her. She could sense the nervousness radiating off him, and for some reason it made her calm down. It seemed that they were both in the same situation here, they were meeting for the first time, and who knew what could happen next.
Syd smiled as he came over and sat down. This would be the start of an interesting night. When he finally spoke she could tell he wasn't used to doing things like this. "Yeah, it's okay, I don't mind meeting new people," she said trying to ease the aura of nervousness that was around them.
"So are you up for ordering?" she asked trying to change the subject. Anything that would make this situation any less weird would help in any way.

"So are you up for ordering?"
Her eyes spoke with less nervousness. Bryson smiled slightly, nodding. "Yeah, I'm pretty hungry. I feel my sweet tooth kicking in, so I'm going to have a cookies 'n' creme shake. What would um...you like? I'll pay."
He felt pretty good offering to pay for the snacks. Of course, that's his first natural instinct; always be courteous. His uncomfortableness seemed to slip away as his eyes focused on Sydney's lucid blue eyes. Bryson was kind of...happy to be here. Out of his dorm. Away from himself for awhile. He hoped that this night would last for a long time.

Sydney wondered what to get. Her sweet tooth seemed to be calling her as well. She wondered why Bryson offered to pay, but she had learned the hard way never to argue with a guy when they offered to buy you something, it never worked out in your favor.
"I think I'll have a chocolate milkshake," she said laughing. This laughter felt real and heartfelt to her. It had been a while since she had gone out on a night to just have fun with people. She was glad to have met Bryson, even if it was randon and strange.

"Chocolate milkshake? Gotcha... Bryson said in a quiet tone while getting up from the table. He walked up to the counter/bar, once again struck with nervousness. The few people who were sitting at the bar were now looking at him with some sort of humor. What did they see? A pathetic, skinny looking guy? Or did they see beneath my jacket...
"I'll have ah, chocolate milkshake and a cookies 'n' creme milkshake, please." Bryson requested in a strained calmed voice. He paid the shopkeeper 4 dollars, told him to keep the change and waited for the shakes to be finished. After waiting for a bit, the shakes were done and he hurried back to the table. "Here are the shakes, sorry it took so long..." Said Bryson in a quiet voice as he set the two shakes on the table. He was trying to shake off the anxiety that once again attacked him. Why did he always have to freak out in public? Around people? He shook those harmful thoughts and refocused on his new friend, Sydney. [/blockquote]

Sydney watched as Bryson walked up to the counter to order their shakes. He seemed to be losing self-esteem the farther away he got from her. It looked as if he knew it as well. From this night, Sydney hopes she could break Bryson out of his personal shell. He seemed like a cool kid, and she wanted other people to see that as well.
Sydney sat there patiently as Bryson waited for their shakes. She was glad she agreed to meet him, it was always enjoyable to meet new people, and it would be good for the both of them.
It seems very quick as Bryson returned to their table with their dessert. "Thanks," she said smiling taking her shake out of his cluttered looking hands. She took a sip from her shake. For some reason, she absolutely loved the shakes at Slice's, they were the best she had ever had.
"So might I ask what brought you to Bullworth?" she asked looking up at him attempting to start conversation. It seemed to be right to try to learn about the people she met.

"W-what brought me to Bullworth?" Bryson coughed, choking on his shake. He hadn't been asked that question since the interview. He swallowed this throat carefully. "My um...parents had me come here for better educational purposes." He felt bad that he wasn't telling her the whole story, but it was a start.
Bryson didn't like sharing things that triggered thoughts and actions. He liked keeping those things stowed away in his little box in his mind, buried by other things that didn't hurt so much. At that same moment, he wanted to spill everything. To break down and beg for help. Help with his mental state of mind, his horrible "habit"...his sexuality.
No...He shouldn't do something so selfish. To bring worry and possibly confusion on Sydney was too much for him. His thoughts had become shaken from his mind once again and continued on with the conversation. "What's you're reason for being here, Sydney?"

Sydney could tell that something about her question did not go over well with Bryson. She wasn't sure exactly what was upsetting him, but that was somewhere she did not want to go, especially considering they just met.
"Ah education, every parents favorite tool," she said sarcastically. She knew that her parents always used that one on her. When they told her that she was going to go to Bullworth, their main reason was it was good for her education. What bullshit, she knew her parents had just wanted her out of the house.
Sydney realized that Bryson was not going to further talk about the subject, and she figured it would be best for the both of them to just stay away.
"Me? Well my parents both went here actually. They felt that since they had such a great experience here that so would I," she said regretfully remembering the day her parents told her she would be leaving the place she loved and grew up in. "I hated them for a while, but I've grown to like it here I guess, it's no New York City of course," she said with a small laugh. Syd was quite surprised that she found herself just telling Bryson all of this about her. It wasn't like her to be able to talk so freely around new people.
